What I read last month:
- The Only One Left by Riley Sager ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4.5/5) For fans of Daisy Darker, The Family Plot and ____; The Only One Left is a twisted tale with Lizzie Bourdin vibes about family, death and of course – a large, beautifully decrepit estate that is bound to fall apart. Sager’s newest release is the perfect read to snuggle up with in front of the fire on a fall day. The end was a bit too neat for me or it’d surely get a full 5 stars.
- The Vanishing Hour by Seraphina Nova Glass ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4/5) Set on a rocky coast in Maine, The Vanishing Hour paints a gruesome picture of a suspected serial killer – one who is taking young women appearing eerily similar to that of a victim of abduction herself, Grace Holloway. I loved this quick-paced, investigative read and the “ah ha!” moments that bring this thriller to an end. This is another to add to your fall reading list.
- Hidden Pictures by Jason Rekulak ⭐️⭐️⭐️ (3/5) Looking for a new start and determination to stay sober, Mallory Quinn finds herself in a odd interview for a live in nanny position – one that she gets despite the awkward encounter. Her ward is a young, brilliant boy that she instantly connects to and feels he is trying to communicate through his art. Or is it his imaginary friend that creates his intricate, dark drawings? Either way, Hidden Pictures was just okay for me.
- Lies, Lies, Lies by Adele Parks ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4/5) Oh, how I loved the way Adele Parks wrote this book. With an unexpected infertility element, I was hooked by this book right away and could not stop until I found out the truth. Simon and Daisy seem like they have the perfect family of three, but Simon wants more – another child. This simple, natural want opens a door that none of us were ready for.
- Know My Name by Chanel Miller ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5/5) Please read this book. It is graphic, triggering and hard. But it is nothing compared to the real horrors that Chanel Miller has had to face. Well done, Emily Doe.
My favorite?
