What I read last month:
- Pageboy by Elliot Page ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Read this book. I did not think I could love Elliot Page more – read. This. Book. A talented storyteller, Page gives a glimpse of what their childhood and Hollywood was like them them while simultaneously painting an incredible perspective of being transgender. I would highly recommend this memoir for those seeking written work from a trans perspective and anyone with complicated parent relationships.
- Tender is the Flesh by Augustina Bazterrica ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I can’t believe I waited so long to read this. A dystopian novel that will have you looking at cows differently… imagine a world where the meat industry collapses due to a virus. The government’s solution? Approval of the production and consumption of an alternative meat product – humans. Not only did I enjoy the parallels between the COVID 19 pandemic but the light shed on our current meat industry is eye opening, while not unknown. Tender is the Flesh is not for the weak, enjoy at your own and encouraged risk.

- When Harry Became Sally by Ryan T. Anderson – I have no rating for this compilation of studies and rhetoric. While the information and statistics quoted were fascinating, I found discrepancies when looking into the studies myself. Pointedly, in relation to studies done in the 1960-80’s to “let nature take course”. If you have questions or have uncertainty about the transgender movement, one that certainly began prior to 2015, this is not the book for you. I highly recommend reading a first hand account or that is written by a trans author. A list can be found here.
